Southern Tanzania – offering the ultimate wilderness bush experience and the most authentic safari experience still existing at this day and age. Selous Game Reserve (Africas second largest game reserve) and the Ruaha National Park (the biggest national park in the country) form the backbone of this circuit. The other national parks found within this circuit are Udzungwa Mountains, Kitulo, Mikumi and Saadani. In order to harmonize with the environment, the camps are mainly unobtrusive, yet luxurious and intimate traditional tented accommodation. The wildlife is bountiful and this is a naturalists dream’s area; the largely unexplored bush being home to elephant, buffalo, zebra and a huge population of lions and leopards while the waters play host to hippo and crocodile. This circuit could be traversed by road although due to the seasonal unpredictability nature of the roads and terrain throughout this region, we highly recommend access by scheduled flights between the parks done by light aircraft.
